THE MOST UNDERRATED CRICKETER

According to my opinion, Gautam Gambhir is the most underrated cricketer. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Bangladesh in 2003, and played his first Test match the following year against Australia. He captained the Indian team in six ODIs from late-2010 to late-2011 with India winning all six matches. He played an integral part in India's wins in the finals of both the World Cups. The Inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 (75 runs from 54 balls) and the 50 overs Cricket World Cup in 2011 (97 from 122). He also captains the Indian Premier Leagur Team ‘Kolkata Knight Riders’. Under Gambhir's captaincy, the Kolkata Knight Riders won their maiden IPL title in 2012 and again in 2014.
Reasons why Gautam Gambhir is the most underrated cricketer-
  1. One of the Greatest Openers in the history of Indian Cricket- Gautam Gambhir along with Virender Sehwag formed one of the always performing opening partnerships. The ‘Jay-Viru’ pair was famous for their quick runs which always delivered a rocket start to Indian innings in ODI and T20 matches and laid a solid foundation in test matches.
2. Performed well in overseas conditions as well- Gautam has performed well in overseas conditions particularly in Australia and England.
3. Good player of spin- Gautam Gambhir is a good player of spin and has scored runs with a handsome average on spinning tracks. This doesn’t mean that he is weak against the pacers. He has also a good batting record against the seamers also.
4. Leadership Quality- Besides being a good batsman, Gautam is a good leader too. He has lead India in six ODI matches till date and India has won all of them. He currently captains IPL team ‘Kolkata Knight Riders’ and under his captaincy, KKR has won the title two times, first in 2012 and the second one in 2014.
5. Capable of batting in both turning and bouncy pitches- Gautam Gambhir is capable of playing well in both turning and bouncy pitches. His hook shots going to the boundary and pull shot is his strength.
6. Played significant contribution in India’s win in two WC’s - Gautam Gambhir was one of the leading run scorers for India in the WC’s. Besides this, He was the highest run scorer of India in the final of both the Wc’s scoring 75 from 54 balls in the T20 Wc final and 97 from 122 in 2011 WC final.
7. Good Fielder- Gautam Gambhir is a good fielder also and has taken numerous catches also.
8. Good Captain- Gautam Gambhir backs his players whenever they are in bad form and gives them ample amount of time to work on their fitness and prove their worth.
9. One of the most experienced batsman
